Mitchell's Book Corner
Established in 1968, Mitchell's Book Corner is a Main Street landmark. It's iconic building was renovated by ReMain Nantucket in 2008 and became our sister store in 2012. MBC is known for its Nantucket collection (the upstairs Nantucket Room is not to be missed) and its dedication to longtime proprietor Mimi Beman's legacy of handselling.
Nantucket Book Festival
The Nantucket Book Festival was founded in 2012 to celebrate and elevate books with a festive weekend in June, and to enhance the lives of island students by supporting writing programs and bringing renowned authors to Nantucket Schools.
Second Story Loft
When Bookworks underwent its renovation, we put a book-themed apartment up top! It's luxurious accomodations provide income for that supports the store but allowing the landlord to charge sub-market rent to the bookstore. Follow the link to VRBO to book a stay!
Nantucket Atheneum
The Nantucket Atheneum is the island's public library and--dare we say--a national treasure. Plan to spend an hour or day in the Great Hall thinking big thoughts where the likes of Frederick Douglass, Lucretia Mott, Ralph Waldo Emerson and Henry David Thoreau spoke. You can't help but be inspired.
